Apocalypse Clock is an independent website, published from France, that explains planetary risks (nuclear, climate, pandemics, artificial intelligence) through an interactive symbolic clock. Its French version is horlogedelapocalypse.fr.

Why this site

Every January, millions of people search for 'doomsday clock' after the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists' announcement, read an anxiety-inducing number… and close the tab. We wanted a place where you understand why the hand moves, and what can concretely pull it back, including at the scale of a single person.

What we are not

This site is not affiliated with the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, which has published the official Doomsday Clock since 1947. We reproduce neither its dial, nor its brand, nor its deliberations. Our simulator's values are symbolic; the method is public.

Funding

The site is free. It may display advertising to cover hosting costs. No content is sponsored.
